Pagudpod Tour has two parts the North and The South of Pagudpod. If your in a hurry or no ample time to tour Ilocos Norte I suggest that you skip the North of Pagudpod and take the south of Pagudpod tour since famous tourist spot are located in south of Pagudpod.
We are so tired the other day( we toured south of pagupod)and the result we woke up late the next morning. Since it was already 10am we can’t tour all attractions in north of pagupod so we decided just to go at the Patapat Bridge because I heard that it has a majestic view of Ilocos Norte landscape.
From our homestay in Saud, We rode a tricycle and ask the driver to drop us on where the bus bound to Claveria will pass by. There are tricycle tour that you can take if you want a less hassle tour it will cost you 800 pesos, but we did not take this since we are on budget, 15 minutes of waiting, still no sign of bus to Claveria when suddenly a tourist bus stopped on us and ask us “where are we going we just said Patapat Bridge and then we ask if they are going to pass the Patapat bridge they said yes! I ask if we could hitch on their big bus hehehe.. they Gladly said yes! if your taking the bus route it will cost you 20 pesos from saud beach.
After a scenic ride going to Patapat Bridge
We had the bridge all by ourselves.. Its so beautiful peaceful and calm
You can take a bus bound to Pagupod to visit Hannah beach resort, Kabigan Falls, Paraiso ni anton. All attractions is just a minutes away from each other, sine it was already late we decided to go back to Pagudpod and head to Vigan, BTW another tourist bus passed by and we are so lucky to get a free ride back to Pagudpod terminal.
From Pagupod bus terminal we rode bus going to Laoag for 70 pesos, Ate at SM hypermarket in laoag and catch the bus going to Vigan, Bus ride from Pagudpod to laoag is 2 hours and Laoag to Vigan took 2 and ½ hours! Bus ride cost 70 pesos.
We arrived at exactly 4PM, We hurriedly rode tricycle to tour the Baluarte,Hidden Garden and Ruby Pagburnayan
The entrance fee is free at Baluarte, Since it’s getting late we headed at the famous Tiger attraction in Baluarte, The tiger was so big and has an attitude it does not stay in place so we had a hard time taking pictures with this Giants.
Next is the Hidden Garden
We had a welcome drink for free I thinks its turmeric tea , The place is so relaxing we did not try the food since we planned to eat at Calle Crisologo, The ambiance was like a forest, theres a lot of diffent kinds of plant
Ruby Pottery( Pagburnayan)
We arrived late so, It was already closed, I was disappointed that time! There was man that I was talking with, I just said, “we came here all the way from Bulacan to see nothing , and I was surprised that he said that Ok ”Im going to give you an exclusive tour” I was so shocked and I was so happy , really happy
While he gave a tour at Ruby pottery I was so shocked to found out that he is the famous owner of Ruby pottery, An award winning manlilikha ng bayan title. Mr. Fidel Antiporda Go.
He taught us how to make a Jar, He told us a lot of stories as well as his past love life hehehe.. Walang forever!…
After about an hour we bid goodbye to each other. So long..From there we walked towards Plaza salcedo to see the dancing fountain show, It’s a Free attraction in Ilocos Sur that you shoudnt miss, because it so damn beautiful!
After the Fountain show, We decided to explore the Famous Calle Crisologo, Ate at the number restaurant in Calle Crisologo( Café Leona), BTW we left our backpacks at the tourism office located at Calle Crisologo so we could walk around without our heavy backpacks.
We ordered the best seller Bagnet with KBL cost 250 with rice we ordered fruit shakes for our drinks,
We are so full, When suddenly I noticed the owner of the restaurant and ask if we can have a picture together, he said yes, we had a little chat and I said that we need to go to catch the bus back to Manila, When he said that “I will call my driver to send you at the terminal”, I was so shocked because I was not expecting this. On our way the driver told us that he is the husband of mayor in Vigan, another shocking moment hahah! Whew,.. I don’t even know who I was talking with!!! Wheww, Finally the time has come to go back home.. “Bye Kuya Please tell Mr. Goulart that now I know why CafeLeona is the number restaurant in Calle Crisologo”
